Last night at Luckie’s Smokehouse, Mavs fans were shouting “MVP! MVP! MVP!” Even if you don’t care for barbecue, Luckie’s is one of the best places to watch sports on TV in Oak Cliff. The restaurant’s huge indoor/outdoor bar and patio is the subject of this video by Advocate photographer Benjamin Hager.
We listed Luckie’s among the great places for patio dining in Oak Cliff as part of our June cover story. The story lists 28 Oak Cliff restaurants. If you haven’t eaten at all of them, maybe it’s time to try something new. My new favorite restaurant is La Fondita, the tiny Mexican place on Ferndale at Edgefield. The owners are so friendly, and the food is excellent. It’s like being at someone’s grandma’s house.
