Did you have a power outage Sunday?

Parts of Oak Cliff lost power Sunday. At my house, near Sunset High School, we had a brownout. About half of neighbors in the 700 block of  West Eighth Street were outside waiting for their power to come back on when my dog and I were out running after 9 p.m. And a Facebook friend reported her power was out in East Kessler.

I figured it had to be the hot weather putting a strain on the system. But Ashley Burton at Oncor says there were no rotating outages Sunday.

“We did have a number of outages throughout the Oak Cliff area,” she says, although she couldn’t estimate how many homes lost power.

The outages were caused by equipment failures and trees hitting the lines, Burton says. All the outages from Sunday have been restored.
