Tina Acosta is opening Chelsmati's Wine Market on West Davis

Neighbor Tina Acosta is starting up a wine shop on West Davis near Clinton, in the same strip as Urban Acres, and it opens this Saturday, July 16.

Chelsmati’s Wine Market will carry mostly imported wine from South America and Spain, plus a few domestic wines, but so far, nothing from California.

“California is everywhere,” Acosta says. “So I’m trying to get things that are harder to find.”

The shop also carries imported beer, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, plus gifts, wine openers, glasses and gadgets.

Acosta, who is a travel agent, is passionate about wine, and she has been making wine gift baskets as a side business for years. So her shop also will offer gift baskets with beer and wine.

Acosta is hosting a grand opening from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday. A wine vendor is making homemade empanadas for the event, and Acosta will offer other snacks and wine tastings.

Acosta says she leased the space in April but just got her liquor license in June, and she has been putting her inventory together since then.

“I’m mostly dealing with small distributors,” she says.

Great news! We’d love to work with Tina on some wine pairings with our all-pasture beef, sold, conveniently, at Urban Acres! Welcome and good luck, Tina!
