Oak Cliff art scene: Then and now

The Oak Cliff Cultural Center will be the site of 2 panel discussions on Saturday, both of which will focus on the long-time art scene in Oak Cliff.

Well-known OC artists Scott Horn, Kenda North and Steve Cruz are among the panelists and OC art historians like Robert Reitz (an expert on early 1900s Oak Cliff artist Frank Reaugh) are also included.  The discussions are from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and, afterwards, the Texas Theatre will be open for an artists gathering.  The cost is $10 per panel.

And at 6 p.m., Turner House is hosting its 5th annual Wine & Art fundraising event. The program includes a lecture on the women artists of the 1936 Texas centennial fair, an exhibit of works by artists from the centennial, food, music and a silent auction.  The silent auction includes works by Oak Cliff artists and artisans.  The cost is $75 for the lecture, $50 for just the event.
