A group of neighbors is meeting to tailgate at the Adamson High School football game, starting at 6 p.m. Friday at Sprague Athletic Complex.
Sergio Leone’s spaghetti western “A Fistful of Dollars” opens this weekend at The Texas Theatre, continuing the Italian Summer series.
The Janette Kennedy Gallery at South Side on Lamar opens an exhibit, “Studio 109 Presents: The 3 Fridas”, Saturday from 6-10 p.m. The show includes work from Oak Cliff-based artist Melody Hay, Meredith Redard and Jennifer Shipley.
The Kessler has some interesting stuff this weekend. Friday, it’s Whiskey Folk Ramblers with RTB2 and Hell, TX. Saturday is a free screening of “Don’t Tell My Wife I’m a Cult Leader,” an animated series pilot from “life-long cult enthusiast Todd Steinberg and creative partner Matt Rox”. Live music will follow the 8 p.m. screening, which is preceded by a Q&A and reception. On Sunday, Sept. 4, it’s an evening of tango music.
The Hotter than Hell Margarita Meltdown is in the Bishop Arts District Sunday.
