This is exciting: We’re finally getting gorilla bars in the ‘hood. Wait, what does that say again? Oh, GUERRILLA BAR? We’re getting a guerrilla bar in the ‘hood, y’all. Dallas bar owners Michael Martensen and Ed “Lucky” Campbell are opening a temporary bar at 828 W. Davis starting tonight, Thursday, Oct. 13. And they’ll be open every Thursday-Sunday through Oct. 29. They’ll have a rotation of your favorite Dallas bartenders on the roster. And some of the profits will go to Promise House, the Oak Cliff-based nonprofit that helps homeless and at-risk youth.

Hat maker Cassie MacGregor of House of MacGregor is showcasing her fall line — hats, bow ties, cufflinks — with a cocktail party from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Her studio is above Bolsa.

The Texas Theatre is getting ready for Halloween with scary movies this weekend. At 7 p.m. Friday is a silent film double feature: “Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” and “Nosferatu.” That’s followed by an 11 p.m. screening of “Friday the 13th.” They’re also showing “Tucker and Dale vs. Evil” and “Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life.”
