Late Night at the Dallas Museum of Art is from 6 p.m.-midnight Friday, Nov. 18. Wear stripes and get $2 off admission to the Gaultier exhibit. Many Oak Cliff artists and businesses are participating in the exhibit, including Oil & Cotton, House of MacGregor and CocoAndré Chocolatier.
Viva Jefferson is a street festival in the 100-900 blocks of West Jefferson from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. Sez the invite: “This event is to invite new customers to Jefferson Boulevard and introduce them to the wonderful stores, restaurants, services and culture on the street.”
The Better Block folks are at it again this weekend. They’re putting on the South Dallas Gospel BBQ and Better Block from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at the R.L. Griffin Blues Palace. Several church choirs will perform and Eva’s House of Bar-B-Que and Teal’s Ribs will serve food.
Junior Brown performs at the Kessler Theater Friday, and Rebirth Brass Band performs Saturday.
The Texas Theatre screens “The Other F Word” and a 35 mm print of “Gummo.”
