"I want it now!"

Davis Foundry gallery opens a show tonight, Thursday, Dec. 15, with work from artists who started out three years ago taking a drawing class at The Bridge. Proceeds from the exhibit benefit the artists, but the gallery is donating all of its commissions from the show to The Bridge. The exhibit runs through Dec. 31.

“Black Nativity: A Reason to Celebrate,” the adaptation of Langston Hughes’s “Black Nativity,” plays at Bishop Arts Theater Center through Dec. 18. The play explores the births of jazz music and Jesus. Tickets are $10-$15.

Cameron Smith’s “Minimalist Manifesto” continues this weekend at 510 W. Davis. A jazz band performs at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Kessler Theater has a Christmas-themed burlesque show Friday. Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis perform two Christmas shows Saturday.

The Texas Theatre is screening a 35-mm print of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” the 1971 one with with Gene Wilder. They’re also screening the crime thriller “Outrage.”
