We didn’t notice, during all the hoopla Sunday, that the Mayor of Dallas rode on the Krewe La Rive Gauche float in the Mardi Gras Parade. Not until we saw the above photo on Facebook, that is. The float had a 70s disco theme and was runner-up for best float. That’s Oak Cliff resident and Advocate contributor Scott Chase as the construction worker.

Mayor Rawlings recently took some criticism for his unwillingness to sign a marriage equality pledge. Maybe this is his way of showing he really is down with the gays? Maybe not, but it shows he’s a good sport.
