The Dallas Historical Society is offering a tour of the city’s historic neighborhoods, including Oak Cliff, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 24.

Tour guide Mike Hazel will explain how the neighborhoods came into existence, who planned them and when.

Tickets cost $35 for historical society members and $50 otherwise. Lunch is included.

Preservation Dallas is visiting Oak Cliff this month too. They’re offering a tour of Calvary Baptist Church, at Tenth and Waverly, which is one of a few remaining churches of 18 than once lined Tenth. It was built in 1924 and updated int he ’60s. Church members are working now to restore the building to its original look. That tour is Saturday, March 17. It is free for members and $10 otherwise.
