Starting Thursday, July 19, Bolsa Mercado will be inviting some of the most popular Dallas chefs into the kitchen to cook their own menu as a part of the cafe’s dinner-for-two takeout deal.

The dinners include three courses and will cost between $20-$30. Bolsa spokeswoman Lindsey Miller says proceeds from the dinners will benefit Cafe Momentum, a culinary facility that benefits at-risk youth. Each chef has been asked to incorporate produce grown in the garden at the Dallas County Youth Village into their menus.

“We really believe in what Cafe Momentum is all about,” Miller says. “And we saw this as a great fit.”

The guest-chef menus will run through the end of the summer and feature Chad House from Parigi, Tim Byres from Smoke and Chicken Scratch, Randall Copeland from Boulevardier and Restaurant Ava, Jason Maddy from Oak, Jeana Johnson and Colleen O’Hare from Acme F&B, Good to Go Tacos, and Goodfriend Beer Garden & Burger House, Jack Perkins from Maple and Motor and more.

Chad Houser, chef at Parigi and the chairman of Cafe Momentum starts it off this week with the following menu:

Salad — Watermelon and caprino royale feta salad with foraged bergamot and Texas Olive Ranch olive oil

Entree — Smoked duck tamales with brown butter and green tomato salsa, chayote gratin and grilled zucchini with guallijo

Dessert — Bourbon and peach flan

Quantities are limited, and the to-go dinners will be offered every Thursday afternoon until they are sold out. Look for the upcoming menus every Monday at Bolsa.
