DISD’s $48-million new high school opens today. Adamson High School was the oldest school in DISD, at around 97 years old when it closed this past spring.
The new Adamson comprises 223,496 square feet. The three-story building serves about 1,300 students.
DISD closed 10 schools this year in an effort to save $100 million. The new Adamson High School was paid for with DISD bond money from 2008.
