The vacant, run-down house at 303 W. Davis transformed into a vibrant, neighborhood hangout known as 303 Bar and Grill, and the place serves more than bar food. Three executive chefs have come and gone, creating a basic menu of burgers, wings and sandwiches with an upscale twist. The craw daddy mac and cheese has quite a kick to it, loaded with crawfish, cheese, bacon and chipotle sauce. For something different from the typical cheeseburger, the huge Texas smoked cheddar burger has pickled red onions, a fried egg, arugula, bacon and chipotle mayo. The tap features seasonal beers from every category and always includes a Texas brew. You can get one of the best drink specials in town any time of day — the 303 beer and tequila shot for $3.75.
