The Methodist Dallas Medical Center will be filled with fun Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 5:30–7 p.m. for National Night Out, the family-friendly event to raise awareness about neighborhood crime and drug use.

The event will feature food, prizes, live music, security fingerprinting and—what might be a perk of its medical center location—free prostate cancer screenings.

Methodist was the first — and is still the only — “medical campus police department in the nation to host a National Night Out event,” according to a press release.

Free parking will be provided in the Service Building surface parking lot, and the event will take place in the Service Building’s Hitt auditorium at Colorado and Bishop.

Methodist was also on our blog recently for breaking ground on a trauma tower, which is expected to be completed in 2014.
