How ’bout some chicken fried steak with your Friday? Norma’s Cafe is celebrating a statewide holiday, Chicken Fried Steak Day, on Friday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m.—8 p.m. You can find the goods at 1123 W. Davis.

This year’s theme is “Tour of Texas” where your order comes with an “eNORMAus”—get it? the press release came up with that, not me—chicken fried steak and three veggies, plus some creative combos. You can get the Norma’s Cafe classic slathered in cream gravy. The “San Jacinto” comes with chili, cheddar cheese, jalapeños and onions. The “Panhandle” is topped with classic gravy, green chilies and Jack cheese. “Hill Country” is brisket, barbecue sauce and red onions. If you’re in the mood for something new, “By the Border” gives you a Tex-Mex twist. The chicken fried steak enchilada is topped with gravy, Jack cheese and jalapeños, and served with rice, refried beans and pico de gallo.
