artwork.7Oak Cliff-based artist Chris Bingham is turning his show at the Norwood Flynn Gallery, “Art in Motion: An Ode to Graffiti,” into a benefit for survivors of the Sandy Hook Elementary massacre.

Bingham says he will donate 40 percent of all sales from the exhibit to the victims. The gallery, on Shorecrest Drive near Bachman Lake, is open noon-5 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday.

Another way to help the victims in Newtown, Conn. is through arts and crafts. Cut paper snowflakes at the Texas Theatre’s Jan. 2 “bar-art night.”
From bar-art maven Susie Angeles:

“When the children of Sandy Hook Elementary start their new semester, they will be in a new building. The PTA of the school wants to welcome the children to a building filled with beautiful snowflakes. We will spend a relaxing evening cutting snowflakes and having cocktails to show our love and support for them”

Angeles will mail the snowflakes to the PTA. Even if you can’t go out, from 5-11 p.m. Wednesday, you can send snowflakes directly: Connecticut PTA, 60 Connolly Pkwy., Building 12, Suite 103, Hamden CT 06514.
