Theatrical milliner Cigmond Meachen comes to House of MacGregor for a three-day trunk show this weekend.

“Black Nativity,” Langston Hughes’ version of the Christmas story, is running at the Bishop Arts Theatre Center through Sunday, Dec. 16. There are two shows a day, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Davis Foundry gallery opens a group show from The Bridge artists Saturday. The show is from a group of self-taught artists, guided by professional artists Denny Doran and Judy Culberson, who meet at The Bridge downtown. Davis Foundry will donate its entire to The Bridge, which aims to end homelessness in Dallas. An artists reception is from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and the exhibit runs through Jan. 5.

Marcia Ball performs at the Kessler Friday, Dec. 14. Guy Forsyth and Carolyn Wonderland perform Saturday, Dec. 15. And Ian Moore performs Sunday, Dec. 16, with Ronnie Fauss opening.

The Texas Theatre screens “The Jerk,” plus a 35-mm print of “Wake In Fright,” considered a seminal film in modern Australian cinema. The theater’s Spanish film series returns Saturday, Dec. 15, with “Torrente, The Dumbest Arm of the Law.”
