Two Dallas galleries are showing Oak Cliff-based artists related to graffiti.
Sour Grapes has “La Tienda” at The Public Trust in Deep Ellum. It is part exhibit and part Jefferson Boulevard-inspired store, according to the gallery. “La Tienda will sell prints, t-shirts, zines, stickers, buttons and end tables, along with other art objects and small originals, making it an ideal destination for those looking to give the gift of art this holiday season.”
“La Tienda” is in the Public Trust’s small room, and Favio Moreno’s “When All Else Fails,” is in the main gallery. That show closes Jan. 12. The gallery is open noon-5 p.m. Thursday-Friday, noon-6 p.m. Saturday and by appointment.
Norwood Flynn Gallery has “Art in Motion: An Ode to Graffiti” from Chris Bingham. The paintings in Bingham’s show are inspired by his fascination with graffiti and how it influences the art world and culture in general.
“Graffiti has been the red headed stepchild of the art world for years, and a majority of society sees it as an eyesore, artless or simply just vandalism.” Bingham explains in his artist statement.
The show runs through Jan. 5. The gallery is open noon-5 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and by appointment.
