Unfortunately, BEE has closed.

A message from the official BEE facebook page Sunday:

This past year was not kind to Greene, who in 1992 opened Monica’s Aca Y Alla in Deep Ellum. That restaurant closed in May 2012, which was a surprising move since Greene told us in 2011: “We’re hanging on there, and we hope to be there another 30 or 40 years. Monica’s will always be there.”

In September, she opened Monica’s Nueva Cocina on McKinney Avenue, but parted ways with that restaurant, which is now called Maracas, last month.
