West Davis, from Zang to Rosemont, will be closed for the parade Sunday, from 3:30-5 p.m. Here are all the details for this weekend’s Mardi Gras events.

The Texas Theatre has “John Dies at the End,” (read Gary Dowell’s review here) as well as Don Coscarelli’s 1979 horror thriller “Phantasm.”

The Kessler has White Ghost Shivers and Somebody’s Darling Friday.

Learn how to make your own pen-and-ink Valentines at Oil and Cotton Friday. There is also a Mardi Gras mask class for children Friday. And on Saturday, learn how to transfer large-format Polaroid film onto other surfaces.
