Birding for beginners at Twelve Hills Saturday

02-13_OC_Launch_Twelv_opt1This story about Twelve Hills Nature Center in the April Advocate was written by former associate editor Lauri Valerio, who is now a Fullbright Scholar in Argentina. We miss her so much. Read the story and learn how neighbors came together to salvage this urban oasis.

And then go to Twelve Hills Saturday morning to learn about the birds migrating through our hood right now as well as permanent residents with experienced birders ready to drop knowledge on ya.

John Lansford leads the birder beginners tour at a perfect hour for the little ones, 8 a.m., Saturday, March 30.

Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have one. Leave pets at home, and stay there yourself if it’s raining because the walk will be canceled in inclement weather.
