Bishop Arts mural to be unveiled April 4


Jim Lake Cos. commissioned the mural on Seventh Street, on the Bishop Street Market building. The real estate company is planning an unveiling ceremony for the mural, which depicts a Lake Cliff Park scene, at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 4. That’s First Thursday in the Bishop Arts District.

Oak Cliff-based mural studio Eyecon created the mural, which also features the likenesses of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bishop Arts developers Martin Weiss and Jim Lake Sr. Weiss built the buildings in the 400 and 500 blocks of Bishop in 1925, and Lake bought them from the Weiss estate around 1985.
