Lions Club to honor Dr. Cooper

Dr. Cooper--Aerobics 40th AnniversaryThe Oak Cliff Lions Club will award its 2013 humanitarian award to Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper this month.

Cooper is founder and president of the Cooper Aerobics Center and is credited with creating the concept of aerobics with his 1968 book Aerobics.

The club celebrates the 35th anniversary of the Bill Melton Humanitarian Award at its monthly meeting Wednesday, March 27. The award is given annually to “non-Lions who have demonstrated dedication to community, profession, God and mankind, that exemplifies the motto of Lions Clubs International, ‘We Serve.'”
