Bishop Dunne’s $6-million renovation

photo Bishop Dunne Catholic School in Oak Cliff will unveil plans today for a $6 million renovation to be completed over the summer.

Full disclosure: I am lucky enough to work at this wonderful school, and some construction already is underway. Renovations to the 51-year-old-school include creating new administrative offices, building a brand-new auditorium and installing new heating and cooling systems, among other projects.

Bishop Kevin J. Farrell of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas will be part of a news conference at the school this morning. He stated in a media release that the improvements are on par with Mayor Mike Rawlings’ “Grow South” initiative to invest in and improve the quality of life in southern Dallas.

“Bishop Dunne, along with our parishes and elementary schools of the Diocese of Dallas, has a very long history of serving the southern Dallas community, and with this gift we pledge to continue that service into the future,” he stated.
