Watching fireworks from the Trinity River levees

Families posted up early at Trinity Overlook Park Thursday night, but it wasn’t that crowded, maybe 200 people. Parking was scarce, but we rode our bikes and walked about a quarter mile down the levee to find a spot.

It is a good location to watch fireworks in that you can see shows from all over the Dallas area, but they are all far away, and you don’t get the BOOM or the smell of sulfur.

The Omni blocked our view of all but the highest of the Lakewood Country Club fireworks, one of the closest shows. But the weather was cool and it felt very “American Pie” to be out there in the dark with bikes and pals. Where did you watch fireworks? Is your spot the best spot?
