The first budget town hall meeting for our neighborhood is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 at the Bishop Arts Theater Center with Councilman Scott Griggs.
The $2.81 billion budget includes no property tax increase, but the budget does call for a 3.6 percent increase in the residential water rate, and residential sanitation rate will increase 39 cents per month.
Griggs also hosts a budget town hall meeting Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the Kidd Springs Park Recreation Center. Councilman Dwaine Caraway hosts one at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at the Kiest Park Recreation Center. Councilwoman Vonciel Jones Hill hosts another at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at the Hampton-Illinois Library.
