The declining bee population issue gains national attention

Screen Shot 2013-08-09 at 9.01.13 AMIn our July issue, the Advocate, in each of our five magazines, took a look at the declining bee population and the push at the local level (primarily by one passionate and hardworking couple, Brandon and Susan Pollard) to save it.

Advocate photographer Danny Fulgencio spent many days and hours with the Pollard’s Honeybee Guild in an attempt to document the bees’ life, its impact on ours, and the dangers the species faces, with the intention to raise awareness about the situation through imagery. I think he did a pretty good job.

Time Magazine recently published a more in-depth report about the bees’ plight including further information about why we should care.
