Catherine CuellarThe Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts announced its line-up for the fall salon series this week.

It starts Thursday, Oct. 10, with Catherine Cuellar and “Notes on the Arts District: New Directions for Dallas.” Cuellar, who lived in Oak Cliff for years, is executive director of the Dallas Arts District. She will discuss the history of the arts district and its value to the region.

On Nov. 14, Gabe Ritter, assistant curator of contemporary art at the Dallas Museum of Art, will discuss the museum’s current exhibits. those include a major survey of the work of Jim Hodges and the Concentration series featuring Stephen Lapthisophon of Oak Cliff.

On Dec. 12, Kieth Cerny, general director and CEO of the Dallas Opera, will review “By Love Transformed,” the current season of the opera. Dallas Opera vocalists will perform.

All of the salons start at 7 p.m. with refreshments, and tickets cost $15 for students and Oak Cliff Society of Fine Arts members and $20 otherwise. Series tickets cost $35 for members and $50 otherwise.
