photoA Dia de los Muertos art contest at the North Oak Cliff Library is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade, and the deadline to enter is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. Work must be two-dimensional (no sculpture) and will be judged on the artist’s interpretation of Day of the Dead.

Vistit the library at Tenth and Madison for an entry form. Only one entry per person.

The library also is celebrating Dia de los Muertos with a tamale-making contest at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2.

To enter, bring five of your best tamales to be judged by a panel. The winners of the tamale and art contests will be announced at a reception Nov. 2.
