When the Dallas Marathon moved its course into our side of the river for the first time every last year, the West Dallas Chamber offered cash prizes totaling $3,500 for nonprofits showing the most spirit along the West Dallas Loop.
This year, the loop has a sponsor; now it’s the Dickey’s West Dallas Loop, and $11,000 is up for grabs to nonprofits that cheer the runners with style an energy along the 2-mile segment.
Twenty-four nonprofits have signed up to compete so far, including the Pinkston High School boys basketball team, Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity and several churches. Sign up your nonprofit by Nov. 15 to compete for cash prizes.
The Dallas Marathon is Sunday, Dec. 8, and the public also is encouraged to watch and cheer runners along the West Dallas Loop.
