At Twelve Hills Nature Center, bird-watching, wine-tasting

Cedar waxwings are visiting our neighborhood right now.

Was that a Western bluebird you saw the other day, or was it a barn swallow?

Learn  how to spot the difference during a free guided bird walk at Twelve Hills Nature from 8:30-10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16. Expected sightings include the red-bellied woodpecker, American robin, Northern cardinal, yellow rumped warbler, goldfinches and cedar waxwings.

The Twelve Hills Nature Center also hosts its big fundraiser this month. “Grape Expectations” is the nature center’s annual fundraiser, a wine tasting with bites and a silent auction. It’s from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1209 Lausanne. Tickets cost $35 and are available online.
