Booze news: Four Corners in cans, Chino Chinatown pisco cocktails

FCBC-LocalBuzz-CanFour Corners Brewing Co. is canning. The Trinity Groves brewery launches beer in cans this weekend, just in time to start planning a float trip.

Here are the beers Four Corners will offer in cans starting Friday:

Local Buzz — a golden ale brewed with locally sourced honey and rye malt. Drinkers can expect a sweet floral aroma, light body, low bitterness, and a slightly spicy finish.

El Chingón IPA — an India pale ale that dials up the intensity with a special blend of bold American hops balanced with Munich malt. The beer is then dry hopped for an intense, fresh aroma, delivering the hop machismo that local craft beer fans consistently request.

Block Party Porter — a robust porter that is smooth and chocolaty with a round, full-bodied malt character. Drinkers can expect an easy drinking porter with medium bitterness and balanced sweetness.

Chino Chinatown has four specialty cocktails this week made with Pisco Portón. Porón’s master distiller, John Schuler, was on hand for a talk there Tuesday night. And Advocate photo editor, Danny Fulgencio, was there to capture the cocktails with the backdrop of Chino’s striking artwork.
