City Council next month could approve the plan to rezone the Oak Cliff Gateway, a 900-acre area roughly from Marsalis to Beckley, and from the Trinity River to  Davis at Zang.

The gateway plan, which has been in the works for about 10 years, received a push from City Councilman Scott Griggs this past year after he made a campaign promise to move the stalled plan forward.

The City Plan Commission in November approved the plan, which encourages density, allowing for tall buildings and requiring new construction to be pedestrian and transit oriented.
