Restaurant talk: Long live Lone Star Donut, Kitchen LTO vote, ramen reviews

Lone Star Donut is a neighborhood treasure

The Oak Cliff Gateway zoning, which City Council approved last week, prohibits certain businesses from Beckley Avenue adjacent to the East Kessler Park neighborhood, including restaurants. But the ordinance DOES NOT affect existing businesses including Urban Acres, Kessler Park Eating House and Lone Star Donut. In fact those businesses may, by right, expand their buildings by as much as 50 percent. And they may continue operating even if they are sold to another owner. In other words, relax. The donuts are safe indefinitely.
