We hear Whisk could open at Sylvan Thirty any day now. It appeared last week that the restaurant was waiting on permits, but the inside looks pretty well finished. The restaurant from Julien Eelsen comprises 645 square feet and will have about 20 tables.

2. Taco Deli

As much as we love Oak Cliff taquerías, we also want Taco Deli sometimes. Unfortunately, that one doesn’t look to be as close. The Austin-based fast casual chain announced in January that it was taking a space at Sylvan Thirty, and temporary signs have been up for months. But it doesn’t look like much construction has happened yet.

3. B B Bop

The third B B Bop restaurant is coming to 828 W. Davis. Owners Greg and Sandy Bussey of Winnetka Heights, who own CBD Provisions, have two other B B Bop locations with their brother in law, Steve Shin. They currently are renovating a former warehouse on Davis near Tyler.

4. Pink Magnolia

Kitchen LTO owner Casie Caldwell and “naughty chef” Blythe Beck are working on a Southern-food concept in the former Driftwood space, next to Bolsa Mercado. It could open as soon as September.

5. Houndstooth Coffee

Another Austin-based company, Houndstooth Coffee, already has a location in East Dallas and announced its newest location at Sylvan Thirty could open early next year.
