Have a say in the Dallas City budget next week

The City of Dallas budget increases 9.55 percent this year to $3.084 billion.

Here is an overview of the budget.

Public meetings on the budget begin next week with City Councilmen Scott Griggs and Phillip Kingston hosting a citywide meeting at City Performance Hall. That meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Here are three more neighborhood meetings:

6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at the Martin Weiss Recreation Center

6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at the Hampton-Illinois Library

6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, in the Hit Auditorium at Methodist Dallas Medical Center
