North Oak Cliff Greenspace is a neighborhood nonprofit dedicated to improving parks and trails, and they just installed some new gym equipment on the Coombs Creek Trail.
The public fitness station, funded by Methodist Health Systems, includes stations for inverted row and core strengthening, shoulder presses and weighted squats. It’s near the tennis courts on Kessler Parkway between Edgefield and Colorado.
The group and Methodist plans to dedicate the station at 9 a.m. Friday.
Greenspace is raising funds for a second fitness station near Annie L. Stevens Park. The group’s biggest fundraiser, Golf for the Parks, starts at midday Monday, Oct. 12.
The Coombs Creek Trail is being extended all the way to Annie L. Stevens Park.
