The Oak Cliff-based Momentous Institute offers its fourth-annual Changing the Odds Conference Thursdy and Friday at the Hilton Anatole. Speakers include “Ted Talks superstars” Sir Ken Robinson, Dan Pink and Glennon Doyle Melton, who will focus on ways to repair social emotional health in children.

The Oak Cliff Coalition for the Arts hosts an open house from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at its new headquarters in the Cedar Crest House, also known as the L.O. Daniel mansion on Jefferson. The group will announce their fall programs, which include a lecture series, a trip to Goliad, Las Posadas celebration and a book club for girls.

Artist Clay Stinnett opens a show, “Make Believers” at Neighborhood, from 7-10 p.m. Saturday.
