The Well Community needs $50 Target gift cards for its clients and members. The Well, based at Cliff Temple Baptist Church, is a community center for our neighbors with mental illness. The nonprofit offers mental healthcare, job counseling and housing. Donate by paypal at thewell.org.

Inspire Fitness, a gym on Zang at Beckley, is collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots. They’re also collecting blankets for the SPCA. Drop things off at the gym at 1133 N. Zang, next to the BB&T bank by Monday, Dec. 21.

Kidd Springs Central is collecting Christmas gifts for an Oak Cliff family of seven whose lives were uprooted by a drive-by shooting that almost killed the mother last year. Yamile Rocha-Calles was a former nurse and athlete until she was struck in the chest by a random bullet in her home on Falls Drive in September 2014. She lived, but the family had to leave their home, and they were saddled with medical bills.
