The mystery of missing man Ron Shumway and the dead body found buried in the back yard of his house at 725 N. Winnetka is far from solved.

Shumway went missing in April, according to the Dallas Police Department. But his house in the Kessler/Stevens neighborhood sold in June, according to documents we found. It appears that the sale might have been fraudulent, although DPD wouldn’t say whether they are investigating any possible crime there.

A home investor who bought the house found human remains in the back yard of the house in September, when he was digging up a concrete slab. The body has not been identified, police say.
