The Oak Cliff Mardi Gras parade is less than a month away, on Sunday, Feb. 7, and for the first time in its eight-year history, there will be a grand marshal.
Bluesman Jimmie Vaughan will lead the parade, which will follow the route down West Davis from Windomere to Madison and then through the Bishop Arts District.
Mardi Gras weekend also includes Dash for the Beads 5k, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at Kidd Springs Park. The OCarnivale Masquerade Ball starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Kessler Theater.
