Attorney Chad West renovated a former house at 832 W. Seventh, which he is hoping to lease to a restaurant. The building itself comprises about 1,400 square feet, and he built a patio deck onto the front, adding another 800 feet. It will also have a parking lot at the rear of the building.

The addition of another restaurant space to the Tyler/Davis area adds weight to an already blossoming expansion of Bishop Arts. BBBop Seoul Kitchen opened nearby last year. And real estate investor Good Space has renovated the old Davis Street Baptist Church for a restaurant. Add to that Davis Street Espresso, Bishop Arts Winery and Good Space’s additions of Joy Macarons and Encanto Pops.

West also converted a former stereo store into an office for his law firm on Tyler and Davis, and he owns the building that houses North Oak Cliff Beer and Wine.

The West Seventh corridor is included in the Bishop Arts District zoning. The authors of that zoning plan envisioned Seventh as a mix of commercial and residential uses.
