Neighbors gave input on a $4.5-million renovation of Kidd Springs Park pool last month, and designers already have compiled them for a new presentation.

A preliminary plan for the pool overhaul will be presented to neighbors at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 14 at the Kidd Springs recreation center.

The new aquatics center will have a six-lane, 25-yard lap pool, plus a separate children’s pool. It will also have a 3,000-to-4,000-square-foot bathhouse with showers and restrooms, plus an office and break room for employees. The new design will have more shade and more pool space for adult exercise and lap swimming.

Neighbors attending a meeting Feb. 4 indicated the amenities they most wanted were diving boards and flume slides for the main pool as well as a jungle gym and zero-depth entry for the kiddie pool.

There also is a plan for $353,000 in repairs to the park, to include improving the dam and shoreline and repairing a massive underground culvert.
