A Kimball High School student was taken by ambulance to the hospital this morning after shooting himself in the leg.
The student “inadvertently shot himself with a single-shot revolver at the end of first period,” according to the Dallas Independent School District.
NBCDFW reports that the student bypassed metal detectors because of an early morning meeting with his parent and administrators.
He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured, and the school did not close.
