A new monthly event is coming to West Dallas this weekend. The Commerce Street Night Market is from 6-10 p.m. Friday, June 24, in the pavilion at Alta West Commerce, 444 W. Commerce. There will be local vendors, musicians, artists and performers at this inaugural market, planned for on the last Friday of each month.

Slide the City also is coming to West Dallas this weekend. It’s a giant water slide, operating from noon-7 p.m. Saturday on Sylvan at Canada.

Kids story time at the Wild Detectives starts at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Katherine Bourne reads “Harold and the Purple Crayon.”

Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis perform at the Kessler Saturday.

The Texas Theatre celebrates pride month with a burlesque and drag show Saturday. The Oak Cliff Cultural Center sponsors a free screening of “Top Gun” at 3 p.m. Sunday.
