The newest book about Oak Cliff from Arcadia Publishing is “Images of Modern America: Oak Cliff.”
It features wonderful old photos of our neighborhood, including the above, which shows Kimball High School students hanging out at Aunt Stelle’s sno cone stand in the 1960s.
There’s also this one, at right, of Kimball kids at another sweet spot, Polar Bear ice cream at Hampton/Illinois.

The publisher has another book all about the early days of Oak Cliff, “Images of America: Oak Cliff.” There’s also “Legendary Locals of Oak Cliff” as well as books about JFK sites in Dallas and Dealey Plaza and one about “Lost Dallas.”
