Oak Cliff high-schoolers voted. Have you?

Dallas Can Academy students pose after their first time voting.

Students at Dallas Can Academy in Oak Cliff spent several weeks this school year learning about American politics. They held mock elections, and students were encouraged to watch the debates and actively follow the campaigns.

During a voter-registration drive, the school registered 55 eligible voters. On Friday, Oct. 28, students walked to the Oak Cliff sub courthouse on Beckley to cast their ballots.

Today is the last day of early voting, and Tuesday, Oct. 8, is election day.
