The Radio Shack on South Hampton Road survived previous rounds of store closures, but this might be the end of the road.
Radio Shack this week filed for bankruptcy protection for the second time in two years. The retailer is closing 187 stores. It’s also closing 360 stores that it shares with Sprint, which would include the one in Oak Cliff.
The first Radio Shack opened in 1921, and it was a leading technology retailer until around 2012. The company closed almost 1,800 stores in 2015.
