The video shows one boy hitting and stomping on another inside a bathroom stall while other kids watched and recorded the abuse. It was posted to Facebook.

The 13-year-old boy in the video was arrested and charged with injury to a child. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The school’s principal, Jonathan Smith, released this statement via social media:

I’m saddened that this incident took place and disappointed that there were onlookers. We will ensure the victim is nurtured and supported through this ordeal.

T.W. Browne, which is adjacent to Kimball High School, has missed the state’s accountability standards five years in a row. The school and principal were featured in a Dallas Morning News story in September for their efforts to change the perceptions and culture of the school.

This incident comes weeks after a 11-year-old Julio Ortiz Jr., a sixth-grader at L.V. Stockard Middle School, took his own life. Ortiz’s mother attributed his death to torment over bullying at school.
