Unsolved murder: Joseph Paul

Someone shot and killed Joseph Paul a year ago, and his killer remains at large.

Police responded to a shooting call in the 1900 block of Elmwood Boulevard around 1 a.m. May 19, 2016. They found Paul, 46, dead of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Paul had lived with his partner, Jeff Phillips, near Kiest Park. Phillips told the Dallas Voice last year that dust from home renovations had irritated Paul’s asthma, so Paul had slept elsewhere that night.

It is unclear what the motivation for the shooting might’ve been, and there is no suspect.

Paul’s murder was one of nine unsolved homicides in our neighborhood last year.
